Who Can Apply?

Foreign students who are in the last year of high school or graduated from high school can apply for the YÖS exam. T.R. Citizens of the Republic of Turkey can also apply for the YÖS Exam if their citizens have completed their entire high school education in high schools abroad.

PRINCIPLES REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF STUDENTS FROM ABROAD

A- General Principles:

B- Candidates to Apply:

a) Provided that they are in the last year of high school or graduated;

1) Foreign nationals,

2) Permission to become a Turkish citizen by birth and renounce Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of Interior

b) Candidates

1) T.C. The nationality of secondary education (high school) all in Turkey or TRNC completing,

2) K.K.T.C. Those who are nationals (except those who have completed their secondary education in TRNC high schools and have GCEAL results and those who have or will have GCE AL exam results by enrolling in colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010),

* 3) The first nationality by birth as defined in clause 2 of the article a is T.C. dual nationals (except those who fulfill the conditions in clause a, clause 4)

4) One of his nationalities is K.K.T.C. dual citizenships (secondary education (high school) from TRNC Those who have completed their high schools and have GCE AL results and those who have or will have GCEAL exam results by enrolling and studying at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010),

5) within the schools in Turkey with foreign embassies in Turkey Refusal to accept the applications of Turkish citizens who study at high schools or dual nationals whose first nationality is Turkish by birth as defined in clause 2 of Article A,

C- Principles Regarding the Admission Requirements of Universities:

1) Countries’ national exams, international exams, secondary education (high school) grade point averages, exam held by the university, etc. Submitting the principles for accepting students from abroad, including the minimum scores of the methods to be used in student admission, in the form of a directive or regulation accepted by the University Senate for the approval of the General Assembly of Higher Education,

3) Universities in our country are legally accepted by foreign candidates who come to our country. a letter of acceptance or an equivalent document for the students they have accepted, and if the relevant boards of higher education institutions accept the candidates who applied in the interim period, the examination is made by the relevant higher education institution and the candidates who meet the application requirement are not exceed 1/3 of the relevant university’s foreign student quota in the previous year. Preparing a “pre-acceptance letter” or an equivalent document for the next academic year,

4) Opportunity for students coming from abroad to choose the universities of our country. To prepare introductory documents and catalogs for our universities, to encourage our universities to participate in education fairs abroad, and to establish Foreign Student Offices by universities to assist applicants or incoming students,

Which country citizens can apply to YÖS?

How many people take the YÖS exam?

The number of students taking the YÖS exam and the number of foreign students is increasing every year. Annually, the average hit rate of 180,000 Foreign students is in universities in Turkey. According to the 14 / f article of the law numbered 6287 published in the Official Gazette dated 11.04.2012 and numbered 28261, a quota is reserved for international students, not exceeding 35% in State Universities and 50% in Foundation Universities.

YÖS Exam Applications

YÖS Exam Application conditions, dates, and processes are made on the universities’ websites. There is no limitation for exam applications. Since universities hold their YÖS Exams, candidates can apply and participate in exams of all universities.

When will YÖS Applications be made?

YÖS Exam applications are generally made between March and June. Between these months, universities announce their application dates – exam dates and quotas. Each University determines its YÖS exam dates each year and announces them on its website.

Where is YÖS done?

YÖS Exams are conducted primarily within the campus of the universities, and at centers designated at home and abroad. YÖS exams of various universities in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Russia, and 35 different countries are held in parallel.

When will the YÖS Exam results be announced?

YÖS Exam Results – Final Acceptance / Registration results of universities are finalized in maximum 6th week after YÖS Exams are held. Generally, the results are determined through the online system.

Which Universities Do YÖS?

YOS exam with a lot of foreign university students in Turkey serves intake. Some universities’ YÖS Exams are valid in other universities. YÖS Application Fees

YÖS exam application fees are determined by universities every year. Application fees are between 20 USD and 100 USD. Fees may vary as to Nationality and Exam Center.

YÖS Exam content

YÖS Exam generally consists of 80 questions. In these questions, an average of 35 Mathematical Questions – 5 Geometry – 60 IQ questions are asked.

These numbers can change in universities. Generally, 65% of the YÖS exams ask IQ – General Ability Questions.

YÖS Exam Duration

The average time given in YÖS exams varies between 90 and 120 minutes. Most universities are based on 90 minutes. Students have 1.12 minutes for an average YÖS Exam question.
