IELTS is an international test. It refers to International English Language Testing System. IELTS exam fees vary from year to year. Whether the exam is taken face-to-face or online also affects the exam fee. As of 2021, IELTS exam fees are between 1400 TL and 1600 TL.

British Council and IDP Turkey prepare exam questions. The exams of the two institutions are similar.
● In the exam, four basic English skills of candidates are evaluated: reading, speaking, listening, and writing.
● Independent scores are given for these four skills evaluated in the exam.
● In addition to the scores given separately, the average score for the general exam is also determined.
● The highest score that can be obtained in the exam is 9.
● Assessments in reading and listening are made out of 40 and then converted into IELTS score format.
● The writing test has two parts. The second and more difficult part has twice the score of the first part.
● Scoring is primarily based on pronunciation, grammar, word use, accuracy, and fluency in the speaking test.
The required exam scores also vary according to the exam taken. A score of 6.0 and above can be requested for a master’s and doctorate abroad in the academic exam. The desired score for work visas is usually 5.00 and 6.00.

Although the official validity period of the IELTS exam is two years, it is considered in the applications of many institutions even if the time expires.
