Full details of the long-awaited Scale-Up visa in the UK were announced this week (22 August) by the UK Government. It is a visa with more flexibility than other visas, allowing the UK government to support fast-growing businesses, allowing them to recruit talented employees from overseas.

?A worker who comes to the UK with a scale-up visa will be able to stay in the UK and work independently after the first 6 months, until the 2-year period expires, without requiring any other sponsorship or permission. Speaking on the subject, Emel Yılmaz, founder of Global Immigration Law @globalimmigrationlaw; “People who are in the UK with a scale-up visa can continue to work in the company they received an offer from, work in another company or start their own business, if they wish, after a 6-month working period,” he said.

To be eligible to sponsor persons covered by a visa, these companies must have achieved a year-over-year growth of 20% or more in employment or turnover over the past three years, as well as having employed at least 10 people starting 3 years in advance.
